Students at Thousand Islands Elementary School in Lansdowne are helping those in need by helping to fill the shelves at the ROLL Aid Centre Food Bank. Their community food drive is now underway. Principal Tracy Wagner explains what they are doing.
Wagner talks about what is currently in high demand.
She adds that this Food Drive has been a learning experience for the students as the demand for food banks in our region has increased recently
If you have donations of food or cash for the Food Drive, here is what you can do when you arrive at the school for drop off.
Canned vegetables and fruit, pasta rice and grains, peanut butter and canned protein, instant meals and healthy snacks, along with any and all items will be accepted. Grade 6 students and their teacher Jennifer Frank have organized the project.
