The Town of Gananoque has announced a planned seasonal service disruption, with Bay Road now closed to vehicular traffic for the winter months. The closure, which took effect November 28, 2025, will remain in place until spring 2026, when the roadway is expected to reopen.
While vehicles will not be permitted, the Town confirms that recreational access will continue throughout the winter. Residents and visitors are welcome to use Bay Road for walking, jogging, and cycling, weather and conditions permitting. Signage has been posted, and the Town is asking the public to exercise caution while enjoying the area.
Town officials thank the community for its patience and cooperation during the seasonal closure, noting that public safety is the priority during winter conditions.
