Families are invited to enjoy a full day of free activities in Gananoque on Family Day, Monday, February 16. Festivities run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Town Hall Square and along Park Street, featuring outdoor games, firepits, and hotdogs served by the Gananoque Fire Service.
Inside the Gananoque & 1000 Islands Visitor Centre, families can warm up with popcorn, hot chocolate courtesy of Laverne’s Eatery, face painting by Not So Amateur Amateurs, and bracelet-making activities. Later in the day, Silver Cinema will host an indoor playground beginning at 2 p.m., followed by a screening of Charlie the Wonderdog at 3 p.m.
Public skating will also be available at the Gord Brown Memorial Canada 150 Outdoor Rink from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., weather permitting.
All events are free and open to the public. The celebration is proudly sponsored by the Town of Gananoque, Downtown Gananoque BIA, Travel 1000 Islands, Thousand Islands Boat Museum, and Laverne’s Eatery.
