Residents of the Township of Leeds and Thousand Islands and the Town of Gananoque are reminded of holiday schedules for Family Day on Monday, February 16th. The Township Office and all waste sites will be closed for the holiday. In Lansdowne, curbside waste collection will be delayed by one day, taking place on Tuesday, February 17th.
In Gananoque, Town Hall will also be closed on Family Day, reopening Tuesday, February 17th at 8:30 a.m. The Gananoque & 1000 Islands Visitor Centre will host a Family Day Fun Event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with public washrooms available. Waste and recycling collection schedules remain unchanged.
Recreational facilities are impacted as well. The Lou Jeffries Arena will be closed on Monday, canceling all scheduled programming. Meanwhile, the Gord Brown Memorial Canada 150 Outdoor Rink will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., weather permitting, for public skating, though no scheduled maintenance will take place.
Families are encouraged to enjoy the day safely while noting these closures and schedule adjustments.
