Environment Canada has issued a Yellow Advisory for Gananoque and the surrounding area as heavy fog continues to reduce visibility. Fog banks are affecting portions of the region, with near-zero visibility reported in some areas. The fog is expected to dissipate later tonight or early Wednesday morning.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution while driving, as visibility may suddenly drop at times. Drivers should turn on their lights, reduce speed, and maintain a safe following distance to prevent accidents. Pedestrians should also remain alert when traveling near roadways.
Residents are encouraged to monitor local weather updates and travel advisories throughout the night. Environment Canada warns that hazardous driving conditions may persist until the fog lifts, and extra time should be allowed for travel.
