Several new members of the Leeds 1000 Islands Fire Service spent the weekend continuing their training as they work toward completing their NFPA Firefighter II certification.
The firefighters are building on the skills developed during their Firefighter I training, taking part in additional instruction and hands-on exercises designed to strengthen their knowledge and emergency response abilities.
Fire officials say ongoing training is a critical part of the profession, requiring dedication, commitment, and many hours of practice to ensure firefighters are prepared for a wide range of emergency situations.
The department noted that members often give up personal time, including weekends, to take part in training sessions. Officials thanked the firefighters for their continued commitment to improving their skills and serving the community with professionalism and dedication.
