Gananoque Police responded to a report on February 20 regarding an assault that occurred on February 14. The victim disclosed that after a verbal dispute with their partner, they attempted to leave when the accused allegedly assaulted them and threatened to cause serious harm.
Following an investigation, a 41-year-old resident of Gananoque was arrested on February 21. The individual faces multiple charges, including Assault – Spousal, Sexual Assault, and Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
