The Council of the Township of Leeds and Thousand Islands will hold a public meeting on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. to review a zoning amendment application for the property at 158 Hill Island.
The applicant proposes changing the waterfront zoning from Environmental Protection (EP) to Environmental Protection Special Exception XX (EP-XX).
The amendment would allow construction of a 182-square-metre marine facility, including a 156-square-metre flat-roof boathouse and a 26-square-metre ramp/pedestrian bridge.
The existing 56-square-metre L-shaped dock would be removed. The proposal requests zoning relief for maximum area, width, and height, including a 6.3-metre boathouse height and permission for roof access as a sun deck.
The property is located at the foot of the Canadian Span of the Thousand Islands Bridge near the former Border Mall and Gift Shop on Hill Island.
Residents are encouraged to attend and provide input.
