Carveth Care Centre has declared a COVID-19 outbreak on Reception Two, which includes the East and Northeast wings of the long-term care home. As a result, masking is mandatory throughout the facility, and visitors who are unwell are asked to stay home.
Residents in the affected wings are currently restricted to visits from Essential Caregivers only. General visiting is still permitted in the West, North, and Kingsley Earl wings; however, visitors to Kingsley Earl are asked to go directly to the resident’s room and avoid stopping in the East and Northeast wings.
The home emphasizes proper hand hygiene, requiring visitors to wash or sanitize hands upon entry, before and after visiting, and upon exit.
Carveth Care Centre is working closely with Public Health and following strict infection control protocols to limit the outbreak. For questions, contact IPAC Lead Anitha Chandrahausan at 613-382-4752 ext. 114.
