Firefighters with the Leeds 1000 Islands Fire Service have been busy with training sessions to improve emergency response capabilities. Over the past few days, service members worked toward their NFPA 1001 Firefighter Level 2 certification, refining essential firefighting skills.
Stations 3 and 4 joined forces Monday night for equipment familiarization and UTV patient transfer exercises. With the township’s numerous hiking trails, firefighters practice treating and safely extricating patients from remote and difficult-to-access areas.
These training initiatives ensure the department is ready to respond efficiently to emergencies throughout the community, improving safety for residents and visitors alike. Ongoing skill development remains a priority for the service as it continues to enhance preparedness for a variety of scenarios.
