Residents of the Township of Leeds and Thousand Islands are reminded of holiday closures and schedule changes for the upcoming Easter weekend. Both the Township Office and Waste Sites will be closed on Good Friday, April 3, and Easter Monday, April 6.
Curbside waste collection in the Village of Lansdowne will be affected. Friday’s garbage and recycling pickup will take place on Thursday, April 2, while Tuesday’s collection remains on schedule. Town Hall in Gananoque will also be closed on both Good Friday and Easter Monday. Friday’s garbage and recycling collection will take place on Thursday. Tuesday’s collection is not affected.
Other community services and businesses will adjust hours. Schools, banks, and local post offices will be closed throughout the weekend. According to their websites, grocery stores are following holiday schedules: Gananoque Metro and No Frills will close on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, while Lansdowne Freshmart will operate from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Good Friday and Saturday, remain closed on Easter Sunday, and reopen 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Easter Monday.
Residents are encouraged to plan ahead for waste pickup and shopping needs to avoid inconvenience over the holiday weekend.
