A 31-year-old Lombardy man is facing multiple charges following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 15.
Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Leeds County Detachment responded to the crash at Briton-Houghton Bay Road shortly after 5:00 a.m. on April 2. Four մարդիկ were involved in the collision, with two sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. One person was transported to a regional trauma centre for treatment.
Following an investigation, police charged Jerod Benoit with several offences, including impaired operation causing bodily harm, impaired operation with a blood alcohol concentration, dangerous operation, obstructing a peace officer, and failing to comply with a release order.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on May 15. His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days.
Police continue to remind motorists to report unsafe driving behaviour.
