Conservative Caucus Chair Scott Reid offered his thoughts on a Liberal majority government in a January discussion with lanarkleedstoday.ca about floor crossings.
At the time of the original interview, the Conservatives had two MP’s, Chris d’Entremont and Michael Ma, join the Liberals.
Since then, two more from their party (Matt Jeneroux in February and Marilyn Gladu this month), and ex-NDP MP Lori Idlout, who crossed the floor in March, have joined.
This week’s three-riding byelection sweep vaulted the Liberals into a majority.
Reid said a one-seat majority is like walking on a tightrope.
Reid offered his thoughts on what a majority government looks like in comparison to a minority.
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre criticized the majority government, arguing it was achieved through “backroom deals,” and the new-look House of Commons does not reflect direct voter support.
