The Gananoque will begin its annual spring fire hydrant flushing and flow testing later this month, with work taking place in two phases.
The first phase will run from April 20 to April 24 between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., focusing on the West Ward. A second phase is scheduled from May 3 to May 14, with overnight work taking place from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Officials say the work is part of routine maintenance to ensure the reliability of the town’s water system and fire protection infrastructure.
Residents may notice temporary water discolouration while flushing is underway. If this occurs, they are advised to run cold water, preferably from a tap at the lowest level of the home, until it clears.
The Town thanks residents for their patience during the maintenance period.
