Work is progressing at Jerry Park in the Township of Leeds and Thousand Islands as crews continue installing the new safety surface for the playground structure. Officials say construction has ramped up now that frost has left the ground, allowing for improved conditions and steady progress on the project.
The township is reminding residents to respect all posted signage and fencing around the construction area and to avoid entering the site for safety reasons while work is ongoing.
Once installation is complete, the playground will undergo a final certification inspection before being officially opened to the public.
A community celebration and grand opening event will be announced at a later date, giving residents a chance to gather and enjoy the upgraded recreational space together.
