Drivers using the Thousand Islands Bridge should expect delays as annual maintenance work is now underway on both the U.S. and Canadian spans. Traffic control measures are in place Sunday evenings through Friday mornings between 10 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.
During these overnight hours, alternating one-way traffic is required, which may slow travel in both directions. Motorists are advised to plan ahead, allow extra time, and be prepared for brief stoppages while crews complete the necessary work.
Officials say the maintenance is part of routine upkeep to ensure the safety and reliability of the international crossing. The work will continue until further notice, with drivers encouraged to remain patient and follow posted signage while travelling through the area.
