A 58-year-old Gananoque resident is facing impaired driving charges following an incident involving local police on May 6.
Gananoque Police say officers conducting follow-up on an unrelated investigation observed a vehicle being driven recklessly, nearly striking a marked police cruiser and two officers.
The vehicle was later located at a nearby residence where officers reportedly observed damage to a plant pot caused while entering the driveway.
Police say the driver showed signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene.
The individual has been charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and/or drugs, along with failure or refusal to comply with a demand.
The accused was later released on an appearance notice and received an automatic 90-day driver’s licence suspension. Police also impounded the vehicle for seven days as part of the investigation.
