New recruits with the Gananoque Fire Service took part in hands-on training Tuesday evening focused on hydrant operations and water supply procedures.
Officials say the exercise gave recruits practical experience in catching hydrants and flowing water, helping build the confidence and teamwork needed during emergency responses.
The training also focused on developing the fundamentals required to safely and efficiently establish a water supply at a fire scene.
Gananoque Fire Service officials say each training session plays an important role in preparing firefighters for real-life emergency situations while strengthening the skills needed to help protect the community.
The department praised the recruits for their efforts and commitment as they continue progressing through their training program.
Officials say ongoing practical exercises remain an important part of ensuring firefighters are prepared for a variety of emergency response situations.
