Residents in Gananoque are being reminded that the Town’s spring brush, leaf and yard waste collection program is coming to a close, with Friday, May 22, 2026 marking the final day for curbside pickup.
The program operates under a user-pay system aimed at improving efficiency. Homeowners must purchase garbage bag tags and attach them to paper yard waste bags, as plastic bags are not accepted.
Materials should be placed curbside where they are visible, accessible, and do not obstruct traffic.
Officials stress that any bags or debris set out after May 22 will not be collected, making the deadline critical for residents completing spring cleanup.
Brush collection remains free of charge, with branches under 10 inches in diameter accepted if neatly piled for chipping.
Residents can also drop off yard waste free of charge at the Public Works Yard during designated hours through November.
