On the heels of the massive protest in front of Brockville City Hall Wednesday, local social service workers represented by OPSEU Local 441, continue to strike for wage increases.
Lorraine Ruttan, a home and personal service worker commented on the protest in front of MPP Steve Clark’s house on Wednesday as well.
The funding that’s been received is not the full story, she added.
Ronni and Liz, another a pair of support workers commented on how they’re doing over a week into the labour dispute.
Ronni talked about how she and others are making ends meet during this time.
Workers with the three affected local agencies (BACLA, LLGAMH, and CMHLG)claimed that certain services are not running, despite upper management saying the contrary, and said that some of their clients have even relapsed.
At this point in time, there are no signs of upper management for the three agencies and OPSEU representatives going back to the bargaining table anytime soon.
