A 29-year-old Gananoque resident is facing charges following a domestic incident on June 3.
Gananoque Police say officers responded after paramedics requested assistance due to safety concerns and a reported assault. Police spoke with the victim, who stated a verbal dispute escalated before the accused allegedly struck them multiple times. The victim was able to get to safety.
According to police, the accused then began striking their own head, resulting in a laceration that was later treated by paramedics.
As a result of the investigation, the 29-year-old was arrested and charged with assault – spousal. Police say the accused was later released on an undertaking with conditions.
