Residents may notice a Township boat making its way through local waterways this summer as the Leeds and Thousand Islands Building Division continues its regular waterfront inspection program.
Building officials are conducting weekly boat patrols to island properties and waterfront construction sites across the Township. The inspections are designed to ensure building projects are being completed safely, comply with approved permits, and meet applicable regulations.
With many properties accessible only by water, the patrols provide an important way for officials to monitor ongoing development throughout the Township’s unique island and shoreline communities.
Township staff say the inspections help protect public safety while supporting responsible growth and development. As construction activity continues during the busy summer season, officials remain focused on ensuring projects meet the standards required under Ontario’s building regulations and municipal bylaws.
