A 43-year-old Cavan resident is facing impaired driving charges after Gananoque Police received a report of a person showing signs of impairment on June 16.
According to police, officers were advised that an individual had exited a vehicle while displaying obvious signs of impairment. Police located the vehicle a short time later and observed it being driven erratically.
A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was required to provide a sample into an Approved Screening Device. Police say the driver failed the roadside test and was arrested before being transported to the station for further testing.
The individual has been charged with impaired operation and impaired operation with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.
The accused was released with conditions, issued a 90-day licence suspension, and had their vehicle impounded for seven days.
