A 37-year-old Gananoque resident is facing multiple charges following an impaired driving investigation that began with several 9-1-1 calls on June 20.
Gananoque Police say officers were dispatched after reports of a vehicle losing control, causing property damage, and leaving the scene. Upon arrival, officers discovered extensive damage to the yard of a local residence.
Police later located the suspect vehicle and observed it being driven with one completely deflated tire, causing the rim to make direct contact with the roadway. Officers reported signs of impairment and administered a roadside Approved Screening Device test, which was unsuccessful.
The driver was arrested and transported to the police station for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, the individual has been charged with impaired operation, impaired operation with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit, two counts of failing to comply with a probation order, and mischief under $5,000.
The accused was released with conditions pending a future court appearance.
