The 20th annual 1000 Islands Family Ribfest held at the Lou Jeffries Arena in Gananoque was a big hit with the region once again with many coming in to try some tasty ribs and have a good time. Gananoque Rotary President Bern Hudson says this event doesn’t just happen overnight.
Town of Gananoque Mayor John Beddows gave his thanks to the community.
Township of Leeds and Thousand Islands Mayor Corinna Smith Gatcke dropped by to say hello and showed her appreciation to all who made this event successful.
The weekend started with a ceremonial cry from Gananoque Town Crier and TLTI Councilor Brian Mabee plus a poem from Gananoque Poet Laureate Gretchen Huntley. A big thanks to the volunteers and to the Rotary and Gananoque Lions Clubs for their hard work and dedication for another great event. Plenty of pictures and videos from the event can be found on the 99.9 myFM Facebook page.
