Parks Canada is advising residents and visitors that demolition of the existing Brass Point swing bridge in Seeley’s Bay is scheduled for the evening of Monday, July 6, or Tuesday, July 7, depending on weather and site conditions.
As part of the ongoing bridge replacement project, contractors will work extended hours from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. to avoid disrupting marine traffic on the Rideau Canal. The demolition will take place while the bridge is in the closed position.
Nearby residents may notice increased construction activity and noise during the evening work.
Parks Canada says the extended hours are necessary to keep the project on schedule and complete the work safely and efficiently. Officials thank residents, businesses and visitors for their patience, adding every effort will be made to minimize disruptions while the infrastructure project continues.
