The Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands is advising motorists of temporary road closures this Sunday for the Lansdowne Classic Road Race.
The cycling event takes place Sunday, July 5, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with riders competing on a 14-kilometre course beginning and ending at Thousand Islands Elementary School.
Temporary closures will affect Haig Road, Kyes Road, and Eden Grove Road during the event. The course also includes a four-kilometre out-and-back section from the start/finish area.
Organizers say the Lansdowne Classic is the flattest road race on the Ontario Cup calendar and attracts cyclists from across the province.
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, expect delays, and use alternate routes where possible while the event is underway.
