The heat has been the story recently and the OSPCA and Humane Society are making sure we are doing our best to protect our furry friends through the annual No Hot Pets Campaign. Katelyn Stojadinov tells us somethings we can do to protect our pets when they are at home.
Katelyn says putting cold water in a bowl outside is a good idea, but here’s a tip to keep our pets from getting injured from a simple water dish.
She tells us where we can find more details and tips on pet safety in the heat.
Hot weather dangers aren’t limited to parked cars. Animals left outside without shade or fresh water can overheat quickly, leading to heat exhaustion or heatstroke. If you see an animal in distress due to the heat, act quickly. Call Provincial Animal Welfare Services at 1-833-9ANIMAL or your local police. In a life-threatening emergency, call 911.
