Highway 401 westbound in Frontenac County has reopened following a fatal collision that closed the roadway overnight.
According to East Region OPP, the highway was closed near Montreal Street after a collision in the area Wednesday evening. Emergency crews responded to the scene, where one individual was pronounced deceased.
The closure lasted several hours before the roadway was reopened at approximately 4:50 a.m. Thursday, July 9. Frontenac OPP thanked motorists for their patience and cooperation while emergency responders and investigators managed the incident.
No further details about the collision have been released at this time.
