The Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a death in Augusta Township after one person was found deceased at a residence on County Road 26.
Officers with the Grenville County OPP detachment responded to the home shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Police confirmed Friday morning that one person was found dead at the scene.
Investigators said preliminary information indicates the incident is isolated and there is no threat to public safety. The OPP said officers continue to investigate and are actively monitoring the situation.
Police have not released the identity of the deceased or details about the circumstances surrounding the death.
Residents of Augusta Township can expect to see an increased police presence while the investigation continues. The OPP said more information will be released as it becomes available.
