Residents in the Township of Leeds and Thousand Islands are reminded that several cooling spaces are available while the Environment Canada heat warning remains in place.
Those looking for relief from the extreme heat can visit the Township administrative building lobby, open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Cooling spaces are also available at Leeds and Thousand Islands Public Library locations. The Lansdowne Branch is open Monday through Saturday, the Lyndhurst Branch is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and the Seeley’s Bay Branch is open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Residents are encouraged to take precautions during periods of extreme heat, including staying hydrated, limiting time outdoors and checking on vulnerable neighbours, friends and family members.
