St. Lawrence College is expanding its nursing education programs with three new online certificate programs aimed at helping registered nurses develop specialized healthcare skills.
The new certificates focus on Mental Health Nursing, Registered Nurse Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU), and Registered Nurse Perianesthesia Nursing (PACU). The programs are designed to allow nurses to continue working while completing advanced training.
The Mental Health Nursing certificate will help nurses build skills in mental health promotion, assessment and evidence-based interventions. The NICU program is intended for nurses with critical care experience who want to specialize in caring for critically ill newborns. The PACU certificate focuses on patient care before, during and after anesthesia and surgical procedures.
The college says the new programs respond to growing demand for nurses with specialized expertise. St. Lawrence College plans to offer additional specialty nursing certificates in the coming months.
