The first-ever Tape Day Fundraiser in support of The Soup Kitchen of Gananoque was a tremendous success, raising more than $1,800 for the community organization.
Held August 1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the unique fundraiser invited residents to place monetary donations on tape outside of local businesses, with all proceeds benefiting the soup kitchen.
Organizers thanked the many volunteers who helped make the inaugural event possible and praised the community for its strong support.
The Soup Kitchen of Gananoque says the funds will help support its ongoing efforts to provide meals and assistance to those in need throughout the area.
Following the success of the first event, organizers are already celebrating what they hope becomes an annual tradition.
