Gananoque residents will have an opportunity to get rid of large household items during the Town’s Residential Cleanup “Dump Day” on Saturday, August 22.
The event runs from 8 a.m. to noon at the Public Works Yard at 665 Charles Street, with access only through James A. Brennan Road. Proof of residency is required, and payment is cash only before entering the site.
Fees range from $20 for smaller loads to $100 for a truck and trailer. Accepted items include furniture, mattresses, clean lumber, yard waste and other bulky residential materials not collected at the curb.
Scrap metal, certain appliances, electronics, bagged yard waste and brush will be accepted free of charge.
Residents are reminded that household garbage, construction materials, shingles, tires, hazardous waste and business or contractor materials will not be accepted. Residents must transport their own items to the site.
