Another great night of racing action took place this past Saturday at the Brockville Ontario Speedway on Splash Well Drilling night. With only a few weeks left, some tight championship battles got even closer after the racing action finished up.
The 12 lap Novice Sportsman feature took to the speedway first as points leader Garin Thompson took the lead early with Landon Ryan and Nick Cordingly right there with him. Thompson started to pull away from the field, however behind him Landon Ryan was trying to run down the leader and looking to keep his win streak alive. As the laps clicked off Garin Thompson would remain in control of the event and without a caution flag, Landon Ryan and the rest of the field could do nothing about it as Garin Thompson scored his 2nd win of the year. Landon Ryan, Rhylan Poole, Chris Wilson and Rylan Banks completed the top 5. Thompson now holds a 15 point lead over Landon Ryan in the championship battle.
With the evening sponsored by Splash Well Drilling. Johnathon Ferguson wanted to do well for the family business as he charged to the lead in the 30 lap DIRTCar 358 Modified feature, with Tristan Draper and Kevin Hamel trying to keep pace. Draper had a fast car and was able to get away from Hamel and close in on the race leader. With the top two in control of the field several of the top point runners were on the way forward. Points leader Chris Raabe moved into the top 5 by lap 10 with Bobby Herrington trying to do the same thing but had some work to do to get there. At the lead battle, Draper was having to make up lost time as he slipped off the top side of turn two, allowing Ferguson a chance to get away. On lap 18 Ferguson, who was running the outside lane would make a costly error as he slipped off the top of the track allowing Draper to get by. Over the final laps Tristan Draper was able to keep Johnathon Ferguson at bay and without help of a caution flag, Tristan Draper would not be denied scoring his division leading 4th win of the year over Johnathon Ferguson. Chris Raabe charged from 8th to third with Kyle Dingwall and Bobby Herrington the top 5. Raabe now leads Herrington by 10 points.
Tyler Stewart was the driver to beat early in the 25 lap DIRTCar Sportsman event with Madie Wallace and Dylan Kirkland trying to keep pace. Stewart had a great car and was holding off some tough cars with Kirkland moving to second, while points leader Shane Pecore and Jessica Power were also making their way into the top 5. Just past halfway Dylan Kirkland would take the lead at the line as the leaders entered into traffic, however Stewart would get the lead back briefly but the caution would fly as Cory Lambert spun in front of Kirkland and the yellow flew with Kirkland getting by without any damage. With Kirkland having led the last completed lap, he would be the leader on the restart as the green flag flew once again. Behind him Domonick Merkley would take second from Stewart and try to run down the leader. Shane Pecore also tried to pick up more spots as he got to the number three spot but was running out of time to catch the leader. On the final lap Dylan Kirkland would hold off a determined Domonick Merkley to score his first win of the season. Dominick Merkley, Shane Pecore, Tyler Stewart and Jessica Power rounded out the top 5. Kirkland took the point lead by only 2
markers after the night, over Shane Pecore.
Andrew Hennessy has had a great season at The BOS in 2026 and was looking to keep the roll going as he took the lead at the start of the 20 lap Surprenant Truck Shop Crate Sprint Car feature. Behind the leader Marc Surprenant and defending track champion Josh Verne Jr. were having a spirited battle for the number two spot, which lasted nearly the whole race. Just past halfway point the save of the year happened, as Marc Surprenant made contact with another driver sending his front end in the air and crashing down to the ground. Somehow, he was able to keep the car out of the wall and hold off Josh Verne Jr. in the process. Over the final laps Andrew Hennessy had no issues as he would go unchallenged for his 4th win of the year and extending his points lead in the championship to 53 over Lee Ladouceur. Josh Verne Jr. was able to get around Marc Surprenant or 2nd with Liam and Lee Ladouceur filling out the top 5.
Brad Taillon was looking to end a long dry spell in the Street Stock division as he took the lead with Bruno Boivin and Francis Gauthier right there with him. These three drivers put on a great battle up in front, however the yellow flew as water from the infield made its way into the racing groove and officials slowed the field to run the water in. On the restart Bruno Boivin and Brad Taillon exchanged paint and positions as Boivin took the top spot away and appeared to be on his way to another win. On the final lap things took a major turn. Entering turn three on lap 14 Bruno Boivin got loose in the corner and spun. This gave Brad Taillon the opening as he charged by to score a surprise third win of the year. Francis Gauthier crossed in 2nd ahead of Stephane Philippe, Brett Horner and Thomas Reid. Philippe now leads Francis Gauthier by only 2 points.
Next week it will be the final event in the Ogilvie’s Triple Crown Series for the DIRTCar 358 Modified and DIRTCar Sportsman divisions. The Mini Stocks are back on the card along with the Novice Sportsman and Surprenant Truck Shop Crate Sprints. Hot laps and time trials begin at 6pm with the first heat rolling track side at 7pm Saturday night.
