The Leeds 1000 Islands Fire Service has responded to 17 emergency incidents since July 30, 2026.
The calls included four motor vehicle collisions, four burn complaints, four medical assistance calls, two fire alarm activations, two hydro line fires and one vehicle fire.
Fire Prevention and Education teams have also remained active in the community, recently taking part in a Door to Dock seminar on Juniper Island and a children’s event at Cosmo Campground.
The Fire Service is also recognizing Lieutenant Rick Huck, who retired August 7 following years of commitment and service with Leeds Fire.
The department thanked Huck for his dedication and contributions over the years.
Fire officials continue to encourage residents to take advantage of fire safety education opportunities and remain cautious around potential fire hazards.
