Gananoque residents are being reminded that the Public Works Yard at 665 Charles Street North is now permanently closed to the public for waste and compost disposal.
The Town says the change took effect August 20th and is necessary to ensure compliance with regulations from the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks.
The Town will no longer accept any waste or compost materials at the Public Works Yard, which is accessed through James A. Brennan Road.
Residents are encouraged to use Gananoque’s curbside leaf and yard waste collection and brush collection programs when available.
Items that are not accepted through those programs will need to be taken to a licensed waste management or composting facility outside of Gananoque.
The Town says residents should watch for information about alternative options for disposing of other materials in the future.
