The field of candidates for the upcoming municipal election in the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands is taking shape, with nominations continuing through Nomination Day on Friday, August 21st.
As of the Township’s latest update on August 19th, two candidates have filed for Mayor: incumbent Corinna Smith-Gatcke and Jason Page.
Ward One has five candidates: Brian Mabee, Todd Robertson, John Paul Jackson, Terry Fodey and Sara Meurling.
Three candidates are running in Ward Two: Monique Antoine-Hartley, Angela Kelman and Clark Olson.
Ward Three has two candidates: James Bernard and Krista LeClair-Waddell.
For English Public School Board Trustee in the Upper Canada District School Board’s Ward Four, John McAllister and Christopher Buczynski have filed.
The Township says the candidate list will be updated throughout the nomination period, which ends Friday afternoon at 2 p.m.
