Residents across the Township of Leeds and Thousand Islands will have a chance to turn unwanted household items into someone else’s treasures during the second annual TLTI Treasure Day.
The community-wide event takes place Saturday, September 26, with a rain date of Sunday, September 27. Residents who want to participate can place clean, usable items on their front lawns by 7 a.m. and clearly mark them “FREE.” Participants are also encouraged to share their address so neighbours know where to find the treasures.
Those browsing are asked to take only what they can use, respect properties, and avoid blocking driveways or traffic. Any items that remain must be removed from lawns by 7 p.m. The event aims to reduce waste, promote sustainability and bring neighbours together.
