Joel Stone Beach in Gananoque has reopened to the public after previously being placed in the red category by public health officials because of high E. coli levels.
The beach at 135 Water Street is now open for residents and visitors to enjoy swimming and recreation along the St. Lawrence River.
The Town says the reopening is welcome news following the previous water quality concerns.
The splash pad at Joel Stone Beach is also open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., while washrooms are available from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to take advantage of the beach and waterfront while enjoying the remaining summer weather.
The reopening follows the latest water quality assessment that has allowed the beach to return to regular public use.
