The Frontenac Arch Biosphere Network’s (FABN) annual Trails Fest runs September 11 to 13, inviting people to get out and explore local trails.
With more on the free hikes, here’s FABN’s Communications and Outreach Coordinator Becky Lamb.
Hikes are planned in South Frontenac, Brockville, Rideau Lakes and Gananoque.
The first is set for Friday at 2 p.m. at Wintergreen Studios, followed by a Gould Lake Conservation Area hike at 5:30 p.m.
Saturday starts with a dog-friendly hike at Mac Johnson Wildlife Area in Brockville at 10 a.m., with water breaks and treats for pups.
At 1 p.m., hikers can explore the Brockville waterfront section of the Great Lakes Water Front Trail.
The day wraps up with a hike around Jones Falls and the Rideau Canal in Rideau Lakes from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
The final hike is Sunday at 10 a.m. on the Lookout Trail in Landons Bay.
Lamb says donations to support the organization are welcome.
She also recommended people register ahead of time.
