Two people are facing impaired operation charges following an OPP marine patrol on Bobs Lake.
Frontenac OPP and East Region SAVE officers were on the water around 8:15 p.m. Aug. 22 when they spotted two personal watercraft operating after sunset without navigation lights.
Police conducted a compliance check and later arrested both operators.
Michael Kouri, 58, of Tamworth, was charged with impaired operation by alcohol and failing to display sidelights on a power-driven vessel.
Kelly Blair, 56, of Portland, faces the same two charges.
Blair is also charged with allowing a pleasure craft to operate without required safety equipment and operating without prescribed firefighting equipment onboard.
Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Kingston court on Sept. 29.
OPP are reminding boaters that impaired operation laws apply on the water as well as on the road.
The charges have not been proven in court.
