A popular community event in Leeds and the Thousand Islands has helped support local families in need.
The Township has donated a total of $1,200, along with collected non-perishable food items, to two local food banks following this year’s Touch-a-Truck event.
The event and community barbecue were held in May, bringing residents together to check out Township vehicles and equipment while supporting a good cause.
The money raised was divided between the R.O.L.L. Aid Food Bank and the Gananoque and Area Food Bank. Donated food items were also split equally between the two organizations.
Township representatives and the Gananoque and Area Food Bank gathered Monday for a photo opportunity highlighting the community support generated by the event.
The Township thanked everyone who attended and contributed to the successful fundraiser.
