The United Way of Leeds and Grenville has announced a new executive director as the organization works toward a major fundraising goal.
Robyn Holmes took over as executive director on Sept. 14. She previously served as assistant executive director at the John Howard Society of Kingston and District.
Holmes says she is ready to work with the community and help raise awareness about the United Way and its work.
Holmes says one of her biggest challenges will be raising money during difficult economic times.
She says she is looking forward to hearing from people across the community and spreading the word about what the United Way does.
The organization supports local programs and services aimed at helping people in the community.
The new executive director will take on the role as the organization works to build community support and reach its fundraising target.
