The annual Monster Enduro brought thrills and excitement to racing fans at the Brockville Ontario Speedway this past Sunday afternoon. Everything from 4 cylinder cars to pick up trucks were all on hand for a day of fun and a chance at the top prize.
In the 25 lap Ladies race defending race winner Lisa Quesnel was the driver to beat. Quesnel took the lead on lap 5 of the race and held on the rest of the way to claim back to back ladies race wins. Samantha LaTraille crossed the line in 2nd along with Emily Scharf in third, in a race that saw only two red flags for minor incidents.
The Truck and Van division was up next in the Monster Enduro with 25 drivers taking the green flag. Troy Quesnel set the pace in the early laps. Quesnel then had to deal with some challengers in the form of Shaun Lafave and Sam Titley at the mid point of the race. Titley would take over the top spot as the field started to thin out with many drivers experiencing mechanical problems. Sam Titley would march on for the big win in the 50 lap contest. Shaun Lafave and Josh Villeneuve rounded out the top 3.
The 4/6 Cylinder 60 lap enduro took to the speedway next with a big field taking the green flag. Steve Young grabbed the lead early in a race that saw several red flags for minor incidents on track. Max Berry took over the top spot just after lap 20 and began to put on a dominant performance. The race was slowed by four red flags before the finish, including a roll over by Eric Sypes. He would be ok. In the end Berry claimed victory over Patrick Belisle and Steve Young.
The final race of the day was the 50 lap 8 Cylinder feature with over 30 cars taking the green flag. Mason Phillips jumped into the lead and was strong in the early laps with Gilles Seguin trying to keep pace. Just past halfway a red flew for the leader as a small fire started under the car. Phillips was ok, but Seguin was also not able to continue, which changed up the running order as the green came back out. This left Mason Bilmer as the new leader with Max Berry now second. With 10 laps to go Mathieu Larocque took the lead and would hold on the rest of the way to take the win.
