The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario has introduced a new Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Framework called Called to Belong.
Principal of Safe Schools, Equity and Inclusion Lisa Cameron presented the framework to Trustees at the September 15th Board meeting.
Developed collaboratively throughout the 2025-2026 school year, the framework provides a three-year plan focused on removing systemic barriers and creating more equitable opportunities for students, staff and families.
Called to Belong is organized around three themes: Opening the Door, Making Space and Moving Forward.
The first year will focus on building common language and understanding, clarifying responsibilities and creating opportunities to hear from students, staff, families and community members.
Each Board department has also developed Equity Action Goals, with progress tracked through an implementation tracker outlining responsibilities, timelines and updates.
The framework is connected to the Board’s Multi-Year Strategic Plan and its goal of helping people feel they belong.
