Two people face charges after an Ontario Provincial Police traffic stop on Highway 401 in Leeds County led to the seizure of cash, suspected drugs and credit cards.
The OPP says a member of its Criminal Detection Enforcement Program stopped a vehicle Sept. 17 after observing Highway Traffic Act violations.
During the investigation, officers identified two occupants who were wanted on outstanding warrants. Both were arrested.
Police say officers seized about $14,900 in cash, quantities of suspected methamphetamine, heroin and opium. They seized 20 credit cards bearing the names of people, as well as electronic and retail items.
The investigation resulted in charges related to credit card trafficking, drug trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime. Charges relate to an alleged breach of court-imposed conditions.
Both accused were held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.
