Routine sanitary sewer maintenance is getting underway today in Lansdowne and will continue through Friday, October 16th.
The Ontario Clean Water Agency is carrying out high-pressure cleaning of sanitary sewers located in roadways. Work is scheduled daily between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Residents are being advised that the cleaning process can sometimes create back pressure in household plumbing, potentially causing water to splash from toilets.
To help prevent this, residents should keep toilet seats closed during the maintenance work and avoid flushing toilets while maintenance vehicles are near their homes.
Once crews have completed work in the area and moved on, residents should run water through all plumbing fixtures, including taps, for at least five seconds.
Normal use of household plumbing can resume once the maintenance vehicles have left the area.
Anyone with questions or concerns can contact the Ontario Clean Water Agency’s Seaway Valley Cluster at 613-340-4563 and ask to speak with the operator on call.
