Drivers in the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands will see lower speed limits on three local roads following a decision by council.
Council has approved reducing the posted speed limit from 50 to 40 kilometres per hour on Chisamore Point Road, between the Thousand Islands Parkway and the dead end, as well as Tumbledown Road and Landsakes Road.
The changes are intended to reduce vehicle speeds on the affected roads and improve safety for motorists and other road users.
Council has also requested a review of the township’s Municipal Speed Limit Policy, which could lead to further discussion about speed limits on local roads.
