Gananoque Fire Service is giving residents a behind-the-scenes look at the construction of its new aerial fire truck.
The Pierce Ascendant 110-foot aerial truck is currently being manufactured by Pierce Manufacturing and was purchased through Commercial Emergency Equipment Company.
The new apparatus will replace Gananoque’s existing aerial truck, which has served the community for many years.
Fire officials say they plan to share photos and updates over the coming weeks and months, allowing residents to follow the truck’s progress from the assembly floor to its eventual arrival in Gananoque.
The department says the purchase represents a significant investment made on behalf of local taxpayers and residents.
Officials believe the community should have the opportunity to see how the new truck comes together, as it is expected to serve Gananoque for decades to come.
Construction is now underway, with more updates expected as the new apparatus takes shape.
